Personally, I'd be happy counting my $18xinfinite profits on a light for cyclists...lol....but I think it's probably something completely different that puts lightless cyclists in the dark riding on the wrong side of the road. Some possible factors:

don't care
even a $2 light would cost more than I spent on the bike & that's $2 towards a 6-pack, dude
don't realize that it's not that hard to make yourself visible

Lights to make you visible & lights to make your route visible are two different things.

carry on with y'all's thread here. I'm still just trying to keep myself from yelling, "hey, get off the sidewalk" to the dudes I see cruising down the sidewalks on bikes... :)

I didnt mean to sound rude, but the guy might have lost track of time and it got late. Sorry for my comment that was in poor taste.

poor taste, perhaps, but the core message makes sense. I've been guilty of adding a few more miles to my loop and been caught in the dark. Bottom line is ya never know. That said, it was dangerous and stupid when I did it....though not nearly as dangerous as the things I did riding on roads when i was much much younger...so I have no stones to cast.

I have 2 Planet bike lights for the handlebars a planet bike flasher for the rear and a Petzel light for the helmet. And that Petzel goes everywhere i go and use it for work.So its a 2 in 1 tool for me.Any LED lights are cheap. So cheap that in a Readers Digest ,a friend told me there was a free light coupon at harbour freight.Alot better than blood and guts every where! :D

TN traffic law says: front light, visible at least 500' out, and rear reflector visible 50' away.
So moron was breaking the law, and courting death at the same time.
